Halibut, Salmon, and Lingcod Fishing at Its Finest
Seward, Alaska - The name is synonymous with great fishing, and it's perhaps the best place in the world to catch trophy halibut, giant lingcod, rockfish, and feisty salmon all in one spot. The great catches, seen hanging at the top of the dock each summer day on the big "Caught at Seward Alaska" sign, serve as proof and bragging rights for anglers and our charters alike.
At ProFish-n-Sea Charters we take our fishing seriously. It starts with our experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly captains who have worked together year after year to chart the movements of halibut and salmon through these icy waters. We can put you in the middle of the best action no matter what species you're fishing for. Most importantly, for us fishing is not just a job, it's our passion. We're fishing Seward every day for the adventure of it - and we want to share our exciting Seward fishing trips with you!
The fishing is amazing itself, but our Seward fishing charters offer something more than a there-and-back-again deep sea fishing trip. Cruising past the rocky shoreline around Seward you'll get the chance to see thousands of birds and may also catch a glimpse of the whales, otters, sea lions, and porpoises that fish these waters too.

Seward Salmon Fishing
In late June large schools of ocean-bright Coho "Silver" Salmon return to the waters around Seward in search of their fresh water spawning grounds. Prior to entering rivers along the coast, these fish gorge themselves, often gaining three or four pounds in the last months of their lives. This is a winning situation for salmon fishermen of all skill levels who find the limit of between three and six silver salmon per day (depending on the area around Seward) can provide action unparalleled by any other salmon fishing in Alaska. Seward Silver Salmon fishing is the ultimate highlight for many anglers on their Alaska vacation.

Why Go Halibut Fishing in Seward?
For years anglers looking for a great Alaska halibut fishing charter were convinced that finding good fishing meant taking the long drive to Homer, Alaska. Long overshadowed by the much larger Homer halibut fishing charter fleet, Seward halibut fishing has now come into its own and is recognized by many as the premier destination for halibut fishing charters in Alaska. Seward's closer proximity to Anchorage, its beautiful setting with diverse populations of marine wildlife, and of course, loads and loads of big halibut have given Seward justified exposure as the new favorite halibut fishing destination in Alaska.
Anglers familiar with halibut fishing in Homer, Ninilchik, and Cook Inlet know all too well the reality of fishing in these locations. That is, being at the mercy of raging tides with 4 or even 5 pounds of weight attached to the end of their line. This is not the case in Seward. Because Seward has roughly a third of the tidal fluctuation of these other areas, we are able to fish for halibut in Seward with much lighter weight and fish throughout the entire tide cycle. When possible, we try to target halibut in relatively shallow water and use the lightest weight we can to reach the bottom (never more than 3 pounds). This puts the "sport" back in halibut fishing and allows you to fight the fish, not the tackle.
